Under Ms. Tieu Yen Trinh’s leadership, Talentnet has become a leading human resource consulting firm, which offered significant support to multinational corporations and major Vietnamese companies. She is also a Board member of AmCham Human Resources Committee, Vietnam Human Resources Club, and Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs Association.

Tim Evans is appointed Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Vietnam in September 2019.

During his 27 years with HSBC, Tim has held various senior leadership positions spanning three continents and seven markets. Prior to his appointment as CEO of HSBC Vietnam, Tim was the Regional Head of Commercial Banking, International Markets, Asia-Pacific, covering Bangladesh, Maldives, Mauritius, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Tim has also held roles as Regional Head of Middle Market Enterprises, Asia-Pacific, Regional Head of Global Trade and Receivables Finance and Chief Operating Officer of HSBC’s Commercial Banking in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA); and Deputy CEO/Chief Operating Officer for the Wells Fargo HSBC Trade Bank.

Before he joined HSBC, Tim worked as a Management Consultant for Andersen Consulting in their London Office.

Tim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business from Loughborough University in the UK, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.

HSBC in Vietnam

The bank opened its first office in Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City) in 1870. In August 1995, HSBC opened a full-service branch in Ho Chi Minh City. HSBC also opened its second branch in Hanoi and established a representative office in Can Tho City in 2005.

On 1 January 2009, HSBC became the first foreign bank to incorporate in Vietnam. HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd. is also the first wholly foreign-owned bank to operate both branches and transaction offices in Vietnam. HSBC is currently one of the largest foreign banks in Vietnam.

•  A dual green financing includes a term loan to REE Solar Energy to finance their investment into rooftop solar energy solutions, and a trade finance facility to REEPRO for importing rooftop solar equipment in 2020,
•  Launched the first Green Deposit for corporates in Vietnam in 2021,
•  Provided short-term green trade finance in wind energy construction for Power Construction Joint Stock Company No.1 (PCC1), a leading Vietnamese EPC company in power construction,
•  Launched the world’s first exchangeable sustainable bonds for Vinpearl Joint Stock Company in 2021.

More recently, we have signed a Letter of Intent for evaluating and providing financing solutions with a focus on sustainability with Trung Nam Construction Investment Corp. (Trungnam Group), one of the largest and most high-profile renewable energy players in Vietnam. Ms. Van joined PwC Vietnam in 1995 and became the firm’s General Director in 2011 and is a senior partner in the Tax and Legal services practice of PwC Vietnam.

She is actively involved in advising multinational corporations and Vietnamese companies on strategy, corporate restructuring, and other corporate governance matters. She works closely with the business community to promote good corporate governance standards and sustainable development.

Ms. Van is a regular speaker at conferences held in Vietnam and other countries such as Denmark, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, and Thailand. Her expertise includes investment and the business environment in Vietnam, corporate governance and listing issues.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Henley Management College (UK) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Martin Luther University (Germany). She is a fellow member of VACPA and a member of CPA Australia.

He is one of Vietnam's foremost film directors. He began making documentary films around 1965 and is the first Vietnamese to be awarded the Nikkei Asia Prize for Culture, in 1999. His films have won many remarkable prizes at international film festivals.

Recently, People's Artist director Dang Nhat Minh was honored with The Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Ambassador to Vietnam, French Institute in Vietnam.

In the CEO position of Deloitte Vietnam - one of the worldwide BIG4 in the auditing and consulting sector, Mr. Pham Van Thinh has possessed more than 28 years of experience in the field of consulting and auditing, nearly 30 years working for Deloitte Vietnam since its establishment, and 2 years with Deloitte San Francisco.

Besides his leadership role at Deloitte Vietnam, Mr. Thinh is also highly appreciated for his contributions and accompanying business owners and senior leaders in guiding and consulting on issues related to governance, enterprise strategy, M&A, etc. for many conglomerate corporations, multinational companies, state-owned organizations, and private enterprises operating in many different fields and industries.

With a wealth of experience, Mr. Thinh is recognized as a reliable and inspirational speaker for many domestic and foreign forums and business conferences such as ASEAN Business Summit, Annual Economic Conference, Economic Forum, M&A Forum, etc. He is also acting as a consultant for many large corporations in Vietnam, especially family businesses. In addition, Mr. Thinh also participates in high-quality training programs related to Corporate Governance, Corporate Leadership, and consulting programs for leaders and businesses organized by Deloitte.

Dr. Nguyen Hong Quan is currently an associate professor at the Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh city (VNU-HCM). He is leading a newly established Institute for Circular Economy Development (ICED) and also affiliated with socio-hydrology group at center of Water management and Climate Change (WACC), Institute for Environment and Resources (IER), VNU-HCM. He has a special interest in solving environmental related issues based on inter/trans-disciplinary study and by a strong partnership among academia-industry-government. He has been working in water modeling (e.g. saline intrusion, flood/drought, water pollution) in Southern Vietnam over the past 20 years and expanded his expertise in other disciplines e.g. climate change adaptation/mitigation, circular economy, socio-ecological resilience, sustainability science. Dr. Nguyen has been leading and participating in numerous projects (international, national, ministerial, provincial levels) as well as with industry. He has published actively at various (inter-)national journals, conferences/workshops including 70 ISI/Scopus indexed articles.

Brook Taylor is the Chief Executive Officer – Asset Management of VinaCapital. Mr. Brook has lived and worked in Vietnam since 1997, and has more than 25 years of management experience, including more than eight years as a senior partner with major accounting firms. Previously, he was deputy managing partner of Deloitte in Vietnam and head of the firm’s audit practice. He was also managing partner of Arthur Andersen Vietnam and a senior audit partner at KPMG. Mr. Brook’s expertise spans a broad range of management and finance areas including accounting, business planning, audit, corporate finance, taxation, and risk management. He holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University of Wellington.

Mai Lam has joined Schneider Electric in 2002 and has developed his career through various successful management assignments in various countries such as Australia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar.

He set up the first Customer Care and Logistics function for Schneider Electric Vietnam, deployed the first bonded warehouse model to support business growth then moved to Australia to manage Industrial product portfolio for PDL Industries - a subsidiary of Schneider Electric Australia. From 2008 – 2014 he has led Schneider Electric businesses of Infrastructure, Commercial and Industrial buildings in Vietnam & Cambodia cluster, with impressive double-digit growth before holding the Country President positions in emerging markets including Laos and Myanmar.

Mai Lam was nominated Cluster President for Schneider Electric Vietnam and Cambodia in January 2021 after a year leading business development, Channel and Operational Marketing for Medium Voltage Business of Schneider Australia & New Zealand. His mission is to drive Schneider Electric Vietnam and Cambodia towards further development and growth, while bringing breakthrough solutions to the local markets and customers as the leader of the Digital Transformation in Energy Management and Industrial Automation.

Mai Lam earned a Master of Art in Macquarie University and Degree in Electrical Engineering Technologies in TAFE in Australia.
